Ensenada

I was not looking forward to the day. The weather channel was predicting armegedon again. With a break in the rain at 6:48, I headed out to the border. I could see patches of blue sky which was quite exciting. The rain did come but I managed to ride through mud and flooded roads to Rosarito. At the Caliso Cafe, I escaped a downpour and chatted with the barista. She seemed impressed with the ride from San Diego, and when I mused about staying somewhere local, she noted that it was going to rain for 3 more days. Oh damn, she was right. I won’t make it to Cabo by staying still. The ride ended up being amazing. Headwinds were not fun, but did minimize my need for brakes on the downhills. Rain, clouds, rain, and a bit of sun to deliver a rainbow in Ensenada. A great day!

Walked bike across border through 2 turnstiles
Pricey coffee but a great refuge from the deluge
Great store with road snacks
Sun at sub summit
Asphalt was a good call today
Rainbow to end the ride in Ensenada
