Guerrero Negro

After two long riding days it was time for a break. Benjamin joined for a morning whale tour into the bay at Guerrero Negro. The history of this town includes indentured workers(slaves) from China, colonial and American whalers, the Mitsibushi cooperation who owns 49% of the nationalized(51%) Salt Company and most recently a UN Heritage Site designation. I have more questions about all of this at this point than answers. Regardless, I did take part in a whale tour. The boat took us out past the salt company to a place where the whales were hanging out. As we neared they would approach in 3s and 4s, scratching their backs on the hull. The whole thing was kind of bizarre but incredible. Still a bit shocked about it all.
