Chinnook Salmon going upstream through the guantlet of fishing lines. A morning ride into the Fraser Valley towards Delta in the afternoon turned in a spectcular finale to this cycling trip.

Gentle climb to the Coquihalla Pass and then the long descent from alpine conditions to the slightly warmer Coquihalla Canyon, the Kettle Valley Railtrail, and the incredible Othello Tunnels just before Hope. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/75801489

Incredible ride up the Tulameen and then over to the Coldwater and the Coquihalla HWY. Towns and hamlets remain from a past railroad story of much more human activity than today.

After a wonderful rest day in Peachland I climbed out of the Okanogan Valley on Princeton Road. The climb took me to a much cooler forested landscape in use by ranchers and forestry companies. Fences and cattle guards keep the cows from wandering. Lakes in the Bankier area had cottages and campsites around their shores.

Amazing ride on drizzly day with very few others on the trail. Steady gentle climb from Arlington Lake through mostly sublime pine needle covered trail. Rock falls slowed the pace from time to time. Myra to Ruth Station was stunning as the sun started to peak out and I was able to complete this section

Left Midway to seek out breafast at Rock Creek and then lunch in Beaverdell. The lower Kettle Valley has been burned out. I picked up the KVR after lunch and followed it to my camp at Arlington Lakes. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/75476736

I’m thrilled to be here at Midway (coincidentally the halfway point of my trip by distance) and at Mile Zero for the KVR. Started the morning with a cold trail descent to Christina Lake at Fife station. A quick breakfast at the corner store(coffee and bean burrito) them HWY 3 to Grand Forks for 2nd

After Grey Creek Pass I was pretty confident about crossing the next few mountain ranges. This magnificent route was more challenging that I expected and forced a wild camp as the sun was setting. An excellent day of tressels and tunnels along the shore of Arrow Lakes. https://ridewithgps.com/trips/75398311

Kevin treated me to a peak at his forge located just outside Nelson.

Riding from Crawford to the dock was hilly; just enough effort to make breakfast while waiting for the Balfour Ferry a treat. Beautiful winding paved road with little traffic took me to Kokanee Beach Park and the on to Nelson. Two sisters who were visiting the beach for a swim recomended Oso Negro for Paninis
