Fosnstraumbrua, Norway

Brilliant sun and blue sky ended this challenging day that sets me up to be in Bergen tomorrow.

Sande, Norway

Beautiful fjords, tunnels, ferries and another serpentine climb. After an early morning 14 km to catch the 7:45 ferry at Ornes, the rain did come and had me thoroughly soaked necessitating a break till noon at the Songdal Circle K. Clouds remained for the ride up to the Utsikten Gaularfjellet, a 900+ metre climb from…

Feigom, Norway

A day of riding in 2 parts. The climb ahead was a long one, at least 5 hours, and weather forecasts suggested the pass would see the best conditions around 1700. I left camp leisurely at 10 dropping by the bakery for some inspiration. The temperature cooled as I climbed, and from the summit, at…

Flornes, Norway

A long ride up and out of Sweden and a rapid descent after the border to Flornes, Norway.

Lycksele, Sweden
Glad midsommar! A rainy morning greeted us after an evening with our norwiegan hosts in their caravan for grilled cheese, chips and beverages. A holiday weekend here finds most shops closed and provides us with a rest day to clean up and do routine maintenance on the bikes.
-
Junosuando, Sweden (Day 7/8)

A bistro only open on Wednesday nights ended our stellar ride with a gourmet burger and beer followed by an invitation to stay in a cabin by the river complete with sauna and conversation on a property covered with american cars.
-
Muonionalusta, Sweden (Day 6)

Cool and sunny rise out of Sirkka to Muonio through a section of Finland’s Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. After a KMarket dinner at their picnic tables, we crossed over into Sweden to make camp before the looming rains forecast for this evening.

Sirkka (Day 5)

Cold, wet and overcast conditions challenged our clothing options. Gravel roads took over from pavement for most of the day.
